About the Speaker

Dr. Susan O’Malley helps entrepreneurs and corporate executives redefine their role as leaders so they can understand the impact their decisions make on teamwork, morale and productivity.

As a former emergency room doctor, every time she stepped on to the ER floor, Dr. O’Malley was leading a different team. The patients, staff and challenges were different but the fundamental leadership principles were the same.

Dr. O'Malley shares the strategies she learned under these stressful conditions and applies them to business challenges, garnering rave reviews from both corporate executives and small business leaders.

At Hubspot's Inbound 2015 conference, Dr. O'Malley shared the stage with extraordinary leadership luminaries when she gave her Bold Talk, I Owe My Smile to Perseverance. Her talk was so well received that she was invited back in 2016 to present her leadership strategies to the executive track.

At age fifty Dr. O'Malley left the ER and started her business, Madison Med Spa with a $75 newspaper ad and a dream. Drawing on her own experiences of personal and professional set-backs and challenges, Dr. O'Malley outlined strategies to overcome adversity and persevere to success in her book Tough Cookies Don't Crumble: Turn Set-Backs into Success.

Dr. O'Malley is a member of the National Speakers Association and is currently serving as the President Elect of the Connecticut chapter. She also served six years on the Board of Directors of the Madison Chamber of Commerce where she started and was chairperson of the Women in Business Committee.

With her quick wit and engaging personality, Dr. O'Malley connects with audiences immediately, often hearing from participants – "I felt like you were speaking directly to me!"
